Chicklit vs Fantasy

Fated for Love

Fated for Love (Love in Bloom: The Bradens, Book 8 ) Contemporary Romance - Melissa Foster

Librarian Callie Barnes has visions of reading and relaxing—and maybe having a few too many drinks—on her girls’ weekend away. Her hopes are crushed when her friends pull into a dude ranch instead of a spa, and she refuses to say longer than one night. That is…until she realizes the ranch is owned by sinfully sexy, and dangerously rugged, Wes Braden—the subject of her late-night fantasies.

Fearless rancher Wes Braden thinks he’s the luckiest guy on the planet when the sweet, sexy librarian from his hometown shows up at his ranch. Their connection is white-hot, making it impossible for either to ignore their carnal desires. Wes is more than willing to convert sweet Callie from chick lit to a world of erotic romance, but Callie ties sex to love, and Wes avoids commitment like the plague.

Callie is thrust into physically demanding activities that ignite her deepest fears. Luckily, Wes is as tender as he is strong, and he’s there every step of the way to help her find her inner strength. With Callie’s influence, Wes might even discover that he’s been nursing a few fears of his own. Passion pulls Callie and Wes from their safe, comfortable lives into each other’s arms, and they’re about to find out just how alike they really are.

Thank you to Shaz and JB for letting me take part in this tour.

I am a massive Braden's fan so I'm glad to say this book did not disappoint.

Callie is a sweet girl who is unaware of how amazing she is. She is scared of heights, deep water and creepy crawlies. she grew up in suburbia while her friends grew up on farms. She has moved away from all her friends and family to take a dream job. She doesn't know a single person in Trusty. I don't think I could move somewhere where I knew no-one. I moved from London to Ipswich to live with my boyfriend and although I didn't know many people I at least knew him and a few of his friends, and even that was tough.

Wes is your typical Braden boy, kind, caring and smoking hot. Wes has been around the block should we say but he's getting to the stage where he doesn't want that anymore. Ever since he met Callie in the library he can't get her out of his head. Things get even worse when the girls show up at his ranch. Wes has just edged into being my favourite Braden boy.

Callie has the best friends a girl could ask for. Although they pulled a fast one on her they did it to pull her out of her shell, to make her realise how strong she really is.

Sweets is the cutest little dog and the porcupine scene had me on the edge of my seat.

Wes is my absolute favourite Braden.

I can't wait to read the rest of the Braden cousins' stories.

Kaelia Awakening

Kaelia Awakening - Gina Dickerson

“They've been waiting lifetimes for you, Kaelia. They want you and will stop at nothing to have you.”

The warning’s rung in Kaelia’s ears since she discovered she’s far from the ordinary girl who grew up in the coastal town of Margate. She has power. The first time she shows it, death strikes, the second, she loses someone special, and on the third, her mother disappears. Destiny is coming for Kaelia and there’s nowhere she can hide.

THEY have stepped out of the shadows to find her. For generations, there have been whispers of The Chosen One. They speak of a name - Marrock - whose destiny entwines with that of The Chosen One. Kaelia must avenge the wrongs, uncover who Marrock is, find her mother, and ...

FIGHT Facing forces of depraved evil, magic, and myth, Kaelia’s search leads her through magical forests and unearthly realms. Who, or what, can Kaelia trust? Is she strong enough to survive the horror? All she knows is her life will never be the same again...

Firstly thank you to Jenny at Neverland Blog Tours for letting me take part in this tour. I absolutely LOVED this book. This is the first book of Gina's that I have read and it definitely will not be the last.

I'm finding this review a little difficult to write without giving too much away. Lets start with the cover. It's beautiful. I love the colours and the way the wolf is standing so protective over her. It's perfect for this story.

There are quite a few settings for this book but the descriptions are very vivid and you can easily imagine yourself standing there next to the characters.

Kaelia has known from a young age that she isn't ordinary. She has powers but her father warns her that she shouldn't use them. They are after her. She is The Chosen One and they have been waiting, for her, for a long time.

This story has some Norse God mythology in it which I really enjoyed. I'm not extremely clued up on Norse Mythology....my knowledge is as extensive as the Thor films (mmmm Chris Hemsworth...haha) but it's not necessary to know the ins and out the author provides all the details that you need.I thought the glossary and the maps were very useful.

There are a lot of twists and turns and you never know who to trust. Who is really working with who.

It is a wonderful story and with such a cliffhanger ending, I honestly can't wait for the second book. I would recommend this to all fantasy lovers out there

A Whispered Darkenss

A Whispered Darkness - Vanessa Barger

When Claire Mallory's father leaves, her mom moves them to a new town and into a dilapidated Victorian house.

The old house creaks and whistles, and smells well -- like it's been abandoned for years. But as the nights grow longer and the shadows take on substance, Claire wonders if the strange sounds and occurrences might be more than the house showing its age.

Just as things start to pick up in Claire's love life, her mother becomes possessed. In an attempt to save her mother and their new home, Claire enlists the help of two boys, each of whom is interested in Claire for different reasons. As she chooses one boy over the other, something dangerous is unleashed, and the spirits make their move.

They aren’t content to moan and scream inside Claire’s house, or even control her mom. They want a taste of freedom, and she’s their key to getting it. But is Claire strong enough to fight off the evil spirits, or will they claim her and her mom before it's all over?

Firstly thank you to Chapter by Chapter for letting me take part in this blog tour.

I struggled to begin this review. Not because I didn't enjoy the book but because I went on such a journey through the last few chapters that it was hard to remember how it all began.

Claire, her little brother Grant and her Mum move into this very old house. Claire has always had a gift but something happened and she's to afraid to use it. When they move into the house Claire can tell that there's something not quite right. There's something evil lurking in the house but she brushes it off as paranoia.

I liked Claire. I felt sorry for her because of all the things her father put her through.

Haven is the boy next door. Well as next door as you can get to Claire's house. He's pretty cool but she can tell he's hiding something. Then again so is she....

Bryan is the other boy next door. He's a bit creepy and Claire doesn't know what to make of him. She tries to be nice to him but ultimately she knows something is off.

I found myself struggling to get into this book and then before I knew it I was 50% of the way through and I didn't want it to end. The last few chapters are pretty intense.

Vanessa has left me longing for more of Claire and I hope she writes a sequel to this book.

Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista

Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista - Aven Ellis

Recent college graduate Avery Andrews is ready to begin a new life in the big city. She’s landed an apartment in Chicago’s famed Lincoln Park neighborhood–and has her eye on the cute commodities trader just a floor above.

If Premier Airlines knew about her fear of flying, they never would have hired her to be their marketing assistant—but it’s not like Avery wants a lifelong career. Right now she simply wants a job to pay her bills…and fund a few little shopping excursions, too.

Her new lifestyle comes with a price tag, as Avery is not only faced with paying a ridiculous rent but finds she’s perceived as one of the vacant, husband-hunting fashionistas who live in the area. Avery resents this stereotype—so she doesn’t want a lifelong career, and she loves fashions she can’t afford, but that doesn’t mean she is empty-headed and spoiled, does it?

When an opportunity to participate in a documentary at work arises, Avery finds a two-fold solution to her problems. She’ll earn extra money for it, and the documentary will show her as a serious career woman, enabling her to shed that husband-hunting fashionista label for good.

When the camera is on, Avery attempts to be a motivated professional woman. But when she is challenged by Deacon Ryan, the videographer assigned to cover her story, Avery finds herself wanting things she was never supposed to want—like a lasting career—and Deacon. And Avery might just gain more from the experience than a perfect career image and extra cash to put in her Tory Burch wallet…

Oh man I have been waiting SOOO long for this book. I'm one of Aven's Beta Baes so she has been dangling this book in front of me like a piece of meat for months. Getting me to help with the cover and all the while I just wanted to read the book. (Patience is not one of my strong suits.) Anyway she finally sent it to me and I, quite obviously, bumped it to the top of my TBR pile. While I was reading this I was quite glad I wasn't a beta reader for this book because I think I would have killed Aven. The amount of times I said to myself I'll just get to the end of the chapter and it was left on a cliffhanger so I just HAD to read the next bit would have driven me insane.

Avery made me laugh a lot. She had landed her self a job at Premier Airlines but is petrified of flying, I mean talk about ironic. So her job it's just to pay the bills and buy clothes right? She doesn't care about a career she just wants to find a nice rich man and then look after their future children. The problem is that because of this she's being stereotyped as an empty-headed fashionista.

Then Avery somehow lands herself a role in the documentary about Premier Airlines. So she starts to pretend she actually cares about her work. Her videographer, DDG (Drop Dead Gorgeous) Deke sees through her pretence and really challenges her. He makes her re-evaluate what she want's from life. He makes her see that just because things don't work out how you thought they would or they are 'supposed' to doesn't mean that it's not the better outcome.

Aven has a knack for writing the perfect man. I mean in Connectivity we had William, hmmmm then we had Harrison in Waiting For Prince Harry who didn't love him, and a Aven has a  few WIP men which let me tell you are scorching, I can't wait for you to all read them!!! Deke is of course no exception. With his old t-shirts and his challenging questions how could you not fall for him. Oh and did I mention he is hot..like DDG hot! He's also a little bit damaged. I really felt for him and when he opened up to Avery. I was sitting on my sofa crying, thinking boy this man needs a hug...

The JFK scene really got me. It was so sweet but it also showed everything that Avery had learnt, that you should fight for the things that are important, no matter what it takes.

I honestly can't give this book enough praise and I don't think this review has done it enough justice but I hope you all one click this right now.

Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread Cafe - Rebecca Raisin

In Between Seasons

In Between Seasons (The Fall) - Cassandra Giovanni

In 2021 the world as we know it changed. The government collapsed, and the worst characteristics of human nature were shown as the world fell into ruins. Years after The Fall, the Tribes that were established are still at war. They still fight to keep what they pillaged, and most of all, they fight to keep their lies a secret. In a world filled with deception, nothing is as it seems.

I was born into this world.

Hunter Marks was molded into this world; a General— a person cold and harsh.A person meant to kill me. We were told to just believe.

We were taught to never question.

We’re supposed to be robots, and accept our roles in this altered society.

Too bad Hunter and I don’t follow the rules.

And we’re a hell of a lot stronger than they ever thought possible.

They've been searching for the world’s deadliest weapon.

It’s me.

And I'm not following the leader any more.

Firstly thank you to Cassandra for letting me take part in this tour. I have previously read Cassandra's book Flawed Perfection and I LOVED it. so when I was asked if I would take part in this tour I immediately said yes. This book was a very different read to Flawed Perfection.

At first I found this book hard to read. The first third of the book I didn't really enjoy. I found it to be quite stiff. I just couldn't seem to get into the rytham of it. Somewhere between 30 and 40% i started to enjoy this book and found I actually couldn't put it down. The next thing I knew I was almost 60% of the way through.

I loved Kate and Hunter. They are very likeable characters and you couldn't help but want them to survive.

In the beginning it was very difficult to get a grasp on how the world was. I knew it was supposed to be this post apocalyptic world but the details were pretty hazy. The story is told through Kates eyes and as she has been lied to her whole life it was pretty hazy to her too. She knew they were lying to her but she also didn't know how the world truly was.

I thought this book was more focused on Kate and Hunter and their budding romance than the dystopian aspects.  The scenes between Kate and Hunter are definitely the best parts of the book. I liked the instant attraction that they had to each other. I hated how they had to keep fighting how they felt because of everyone else. I could feel the turmoil this put Kate through.

Kate changes a lot over the course of the book but so does Hunter. Kate brings out this softer side of him which I enjoyed. His tribe have only ever seen his harsh General side but when he's alone with Kate you get to see this loving sweet man.

Although this book got off to a shaky start, I really enjoyed it.

There was no cliffhanger ending but I think there is a lot more of the world to explore throughout the series.

Wing Girl

Wing Girl: HarperImpulse RomCom - Nic Tatano

Wing Girl: [wing-gurl] noun:

1. A young, single woman frequenting liquor-serving establishments who attracts then later repels eligible men that are eventually picked up by her friends.
2. The essential accessory for dating in Manhattan.

For years guys have cruised bars using the "wing man" as a divide and conquer weapon designed to liberate a gorgeous woman from her not-so-beautiful friend.

Meet Belinda Carson, Wing Girl.

She's a kick-ass, take-no-prisoners investigative reporter fighting for truth, justice and higher ratings. But while her fame draws in the hotties, it’s unfortunate that you can’t buy a new personality at Bloomingdales!

Because up close and personal these unsuspecting suitors get fried by a snarky attitude that's sharp enough to slice a stale bagel…which leaves her grateful friends to swoop in for the delectable leftovers!

Only enough is enough – isn’t it time for Belinda to stop taking one for the team and land her own Mr Right?

This was a really great fun read. I loved it.

Belinda is a bit of a hard arse. She has this massive wall up and being a reporter is instantly accusatory when she meets someone. The thing is deep down she's a big softie and her friends know that. She just needs to let a guy in. Let him see the softer side of her not the snarky person she is for her job.

So the girls, Roxanne, Aerial and Serena, decide its time she had a makeover. It's bloddy brilliant. The girls are so good to her not only do they make over her appearance they show her how to charm a guy so that the minute she opens her mouth they don't runaway.

Roxanne asks her cousin Vincent to be the first test subject for Belinda and boy do they get off on the wrong foot. He is such a lovely man and Belinda is pretty horrible to him.

There's this little pastry shop called Nick's and it sounds amazing. I really want one of those in my life.

I loved the twist in this book and I have to say I didn't see it coming.

I really enjoyed this book and I will absolutely be reading more of Nic's books.

Taken by Love

Taken by Love (Love in Bloom: The Bradens, Book 7 ) Contemporary Romance - Melissa Foster

Daisy Honey fled Trusty, Colorado, after years of battling rumours sparked by her gorgeous looks and lust-inducing name. Now a physician on the brink of a promising career, she reluctantly returns home when her father is injured in a farming accident. Daisy expects the small-town girls who hurt her in the past to take cheap shots again--but she's completely unprepared for a run-in with tall, dark, and wickedly sexy Luke Braden, the only man who has ever stood up for her--and the man she's never forgotten.

Luke Braden is handsome, wealthy, and the best damn gypsy horse breeder in the Midwest. After a restless youth, he's finally ready to settle down--only connecting with women is nothing like connecting with horses, and he's never met a woman worth the energy. After an arrest in a neighbouring town, Luke's past comes back to haunt him, and he realizes that his inability to find love runs deeper than he ever imagined.

A chance encounter sweeps Luke and Daisy into a world of passion. For the first time ever, Luke feels a connection, but Daisy's life in Trusty is anything but permanent, and Luke can't manage a future until he puts his past to rest.

Firstly a big thank you to Shaz a Fiction Addiction Book Tours for letting me take part in this tour.

The Love in Bloom series has a special place in my heart. Melissa is always writing these fantastic characters that you can't help but love. I was extremely upset when I finished the Braden series so as soon as I heard there was some more of them lurking out there I couldn't wait to get stuck in. This is the first book about the Braden Cousins. Daddy Hal has a sister Catherine and she also has 6 children.

Daisy Honey had a difficult childhood. When she was at school the girls used to bully her. They spread rumours about her because she was pretty. It was childish and deep down they were just jealous. That didn't mean that it hurt Daisy any less. She struggled through school and even when she left to go to university, med school and her residency she always had those rumours in the back of her mind. It didn't matter that it wasn't true it still affected her life. I think that Daisy is incredibly strong. Especially to return back to a place where she was so miserable.

What Daisy never expected when she returned to Trusty was to bump in to the man of her dreams. Quite literally. When she was younger Luke Braden had stuck up for her and she never forgot it.

Luke has all of the Braden traits. He's loyal, sweet, kind, caring and of course drop dead gorgeous. Luke is the youngest of his siblings and his father left before he was even born. He's been restless for most of his life but he's recently bought a ranch and feels like he's starting to settle. When he meet's Daisy again  he realises it's her he's been waiting for. Luke think's he's been messed up because he never knew his dad but as you will read it's made him a better man.

I really loved the last chapter of this book. It was just so incredibly sweet. I cannot wait to read more of the Braden Cousins' stories.

What A Girl Wants

What a Girl Wants - Lindsey Kelk

A summer bestseller from the immensely popular Lindsey Kelk

Being arrested in your own bedroom is never a good start to the day. Tess Brookes really needs to sort out her back-stabbing flatmate – and her life.

Should she gamble all on the new photography job she’s landed, or snap up the offer from long-time crush and best friend Charlie to start up on their own – in more ways than one? There’s just one small thing she hasn’t mentioned. Or rather, one tall thing. He’s handsome, infuriating and called Nick…

For the first time, Tess has to choose between the life she always dreamed of and a future she never imagined possible. From London to Milan, with high fashion and low behaviour thrown in, she’s going to have to make up her mind what a girl really wants…

Last summer Lindsey released About A Girl. It was a fresh new story that wasn't about Angie and co and I was a little scared to read it. Why? Well I love the I heart series but I was scared in case I didn't love it. I get apprehensive about reading books from authors that I've loved their previous books. I knew I was still going to read it but I was just being a bit wary. I needn't have worried though from the first page I knew I was going to love Tess and her gang. As soon as I finished it, like 3 days after it was released, there I was begging Lindsey for the next book. A whole damn year I had to wait but I tell you now it was worth the wait.

In the first book I noticed some similarities between me and Tess but the more I read about her, the more I realise I'm like her. Any one who knows me will tell you I have this inability to make a decision. What if I make the wrong choice could it affect everything? Tess spends a lot of time trying to make some tough decisions in this book and Amy does tell her off for being a coward. She knows what she really wants but she's just too scared in case it all goes wrong.

At the end of book one Charlie finally got his act together and told Tess wanted to give them a shot in a pretty ineloquent way. Tess had been in love with him for the last ten years but while she was in Hawaii something changed.   He's a dependable dimwit. He's the guy that can be your best friend but nothing more. He's the guy your mum want's you to be with because he'll always do the right thing but there's just no spark there.

Nick is back. This boy is everything you want but shouldn't. That Ben and Jerry's you know you shouldn't eat but do anyway. Tess has been trying to get hold of him since she got back from Hawaii. He asked her to call him and does he answer his phone? No of course he doesn't, he's Nick. He is infuriating but he is so god damn hot. The connection between the two of them is electric and you can't help but think some how it needs to work out.

I'm really glad that Amy got a bigger part in this book. It was great to see the dynamics of their relationship. I hope she plays a bigger part in future books. She's a really fun character.

I absolutely loved seeing Kekipi again. He really is such a great gay BFF. I need a Kekipi in my life.

As soon as i finished this book I logged on to twitter and asked Lindsey if she's planning another Tess book becuase I didn't feel like her story was finished. I felt like it was still only just beginning and there was so much more to tell. I was thrilled when she said yes.

This is a perfect book to read in the sun with a cocktail in the other hand. This should be top of your summer reading pile.

Read, Write, Love

Read, Write, Love (Love in Bloom: The Remingtons, Book 5) Contemporary Romance - Melissa Foster

Bestselling author Kurt Remington lives to write. He spends twelve hours a day in front of his computer, rarely leaving the seclusion of his beach-front property, where he's come to finish his latest thriller--that is, until free-spirited Leanna Bray nearly drowns in the ocean trying to save her dog. Kurt's best-laid plans are shot to hell when he comes to their rescue. Kurt's as irritated as he is intrigued by the sexy, hot mess of a woman who lives life on a whim, forgets everything, and doesn't even know the definition of the word organized.

Leanna's come to the Cape hoping to find a fulfilling career in the jam-making business, and until she figures out her own life, a man is not on the menu. But Leanna can't get the six-two, deliciously muscled and tragically neat Kurt out of her mind. She tells herself she's just stopping by to say thank you, but the steamy afternoon sparks a wild and sexy ride as Kurt and Leanna test the powers of Chemistry 101: Opposites Attract.

Thank you to Shaz at fiction addiction book tours for letting me take part in this tour. I love Melissa's books and couldn't wait to get started on this one.

Kurt Remington is the most reserved of the Remington family. He spends his time at his laptop writing. Now he may write some of the best thrillers known to man but he's a bit of a recluse. A hot sexy recluse but a recluse none the less. That is until Leanna barges her way into his life.

Leanna is the total opposite of Kurt. Where he is neat, quiet and organised, she is messy, whimsical and loud mouthed. Kurt has his days planned. He has a schedule which mainly involved writing. Leanna doesn't plan doesn't schedule and just goes with the flow. I really liked her and thought that she brought out the best in Kurt while he did the same for her.

The seaside girls were the best friends a girl could wish for. They were always there for Leanna when she needed them.

I loved Jack and Savannah's wedding. It was so great to see the Braden's and the Remington's together. This book is another excellent story to add to the Love in Bloom series.

One Hundred Proposals

One Hundred Proposals - Holly Martin

‘Is there really such a thing as a perfect proposal?
Over the next hundred days I intend to find out. I will find one hundred ways to propose to our Chief Proposer Suzie McKenzie and post the results here for your enjoyment. One thing’s for sure, not one of my proposals will be on top of the Eiffel Tower with a dozen red roses.’

Best friends Suzie and Harry are partners in romance. That is, they run the.PerfectProposal.com, coming to the aid of would-be grooms to create the ultimate marriage proposal.

But when Harry decides to catapult the business into the big leagues with a PR stunt all Suzie can see is a hundred days of heartbreak stretching ahead of her. But however exotic the location, or breath-takingly romantic the setting, Suzie has to keep remembering that ‘Marry Me?’ is the one question she can’t say yes to.

This business proposal should come with one hundred broken heart warnings...

One hundred proposals, one hundred chances to say yes.

OMG this book is amazing!!! I had heard a lot of chatter about it on twitter and I read the first two chapters on Aven Ellis' blog and I was hooked. I instantly went to Amazon and 1-clicked this baby. I then bumped it to the top of my TBR pile.

Suzie is in love with Harry and has been for a LONG time. But she is too damn scared to tell him. What if it ruins the friendship that they have. Having him as friend means everything to her and if she lost him completely she doesn't know what she would do.

Harry is sweet and kind but he's got a reputation for not getting serious. He decides to push the website into something bigger by finding the perfect proposal. How is he going to do that you ask? well he has 100 proposals to plan and who is he going to ask Suzie of course. To say that Suzie was less than enthusiastic about this idea is an understatement. How can she listen to the guy she loves ask her to marry him 100 times and know that he doesn't mean a single one of them. It's going to break her heart.

There are with some very original proposals and I think if my boyfriend asked me anyone of them I would say yes. But I have to say my favourite proposal is the one from the prologue.

This book really pulls at your heartstrings. You see their friendship going through ups and downs throughout the book and you start to wonder if there even going to finish the 100 proposals let alone anything else.

I literally Loved every page I couldn't put it down then realised I  was 70% done and didn't want to end. I read the last few chapters extremely slowly because I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye to these characters.

As Alex's own wedding day draws ever nearer, Bronte and Alex's chemistry becomes harder to ignore, and Bronte must decide whether to fight for the man she loves, or to let him go forever.

Review

I am a big Paige Toon lover. There's something about her books that have you trapped from the very first page. They are easy to read and always leave you smiling.

The story starts at Polly's hen do. Polly has been Bronte's friend for years but she hasn't seen Polly for a while. Polly lives in England while Bronte is in Australia. Bronte doesn't believe in marriage so Polly is pretty shocked when she agreed to come over for the wedding. At the hen do Bronte meets Alex.

Alex well what can I say this boy is a hot sexy loadda trouble. He was trouble from the moment Bronte laid eyes on him.

A year and a half later and Bronte is returning to England after landing a 1 year job at the UK office of the magazine Hebe where she already worked in Australia. I really liked Bronte. She is stubborn and very damaged but I think deep down she just wanted to be loved.

I was so happy to spend some more time with Bridget. She became a great friend to Bronte. Bridget is the best person to  have around, she has an infectious personality. I hope that Paige writes a book focused on Bridget one day.

I was very intrigued to see why Bronte was afraid of churches and why she was so adamant that she didn't believe in marrige. I had a few guesses up my sleeves but I was way off.

When we met Lachie I thought uh oh here comes more trouble but the more we saw of him the more I liked him and the more I was rooting hot him over Alex despite the obvious chemistry between Bronte and Alex.

I've always been a fan of how Paige links all her books. It makes them seem

Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread Cafe - Rebecca Raisin

The Story Of Us

The Story Of Us - Dani Atkins

Emma Marshall can't wait to marry her childhood sweetheart, Richard. But then a tragic accident changes everything, and introduces a stranger, Jack, into her life. Gorgeous and mysterious, Jack is like no-one Emma has met before. But Richard is the man she loves...

Two different men.

Two different destinies.

How will Emma end her story?

Firstly thank you to Becci Sharpe at Head of Zeus for sending me a copy of this book.

Ok I feel I have to give you a warning before you read this book. Do not start it when you have somewhere to go. I was crying within the first few pages and I was sitting on the bus on the way to work. Not a good look let me tell you.

The story starts off at Emma's hen do. She's due to marry Richard, her childhood sweat-heart, in two weeks. Unfortunately, the night it does not end on a happy note. The three girls end up in car accident and in comes gorgeous Jack.

Emma is pretty cool ( I mean we share the same name she had to be right). I instantly identified with her. I was crying when she was crying (which was a lot). I really felt for everything she had given up to be there for her family.

I didn't really like Richard. I found that he just took Emma for granted. I think he always thought they would end up together. He was also pretty rude to Jack when he had just saved his fiancée's life.

Jack on the other hand I LOVED. He was sweet, kind and oh so heroic. swooon.

I loved Caro and Amy. I had a feeling about what would happen to Amy and I guessed what she was thanking her for pretty early on.

This was a very moving, loving story I don't want to ruin anything for anyone but just keep some tissues with you at all times while reading this book.

I would definitely recommend both books by this author to everyone.

The Summer I Fell

The Summer I Fell - Sonya Loveday Thank you to Sonya for sending me a copy of this book to review.

The first thing I’m going to say is make sure you have at least 2 boxes of tissues nearby and are wearing waterproof mascara when reading this book.

The six have a great friendship. Each member has a different personality but they all compliment each other. Jared is the joker. He’s constantly making people laugh but he’s also the one winding everyone up. He knows exactly how to irritate you. He would definitely be a great person to have around when your feeling down. Josh and Jared love their music. They both play the guitar. Mark loves his photography and is always trying to capture the best moments so that they never forget them. Eli was the last member to join the six but he made them become the six before that they were just a bunch of guys who always seemed to be together. Aiden is the quiet one but like they say it’s the quiet ones you need to watch out for. The one thing they all have in common is they would do anything to protect Riley.

Ace is the strong silent one. He has a temper that you can see flare out of control on occasions. He’s also the one that Riley is in love with but she hasn’t quite worked out how to tell him yet.

There are a lot of sad moments in this book and I could relate to how they all felt leaving each other behind. It reminded my of the end of Uni. I had such great friends that had been there with me for the last 3 years. We’d had our ups and downs, gone through good times and bad and the thought of them not being a few doors down from me any more was heart breaking. I knew they would always be on the other end of the phone but deep down you know it’s just not the same.

There’s also a lot of funny moments. There were times when I had tears from the sad parts on my cheeks then I would be laughing so hard at the next sentence.

Paige is Rileys only female friend. She was pretty great to her. She always told Riley the truth even if it wasn’t what she wanted to hear. She also gave her a big kick up the backside when she needed it.

Riley and Mary helped each other a lot during the last few chapters. I’m glad they could be there for each other.

I loved every single page of this book and I honestly cannot wait for the next book in the series. That ending KILLED me.

Fractured Dream

Fractured Dream - Randall Garrett Firstly thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book for review.

Before you pick this book up let me warn you that it’s a big book. Now that may seem really obvious but with the world of e-books it’s not as obvious as it used to be. With a paperback it’s pretty obvious the bigger the book the longer the story. But with ebooks it’s not really the same.

Story Sparks thinks she’s just a normal girl at college. She has her besties Adam and Elliot and life is pretty good. Story is on break from college so her and Adam decide to spend the day hiking. Before they get anywhere Elliot turns up insisting that Story needs him, that she’s in trouble and he’s there to help her. After she calms him down they all spend the day together but after a swim in the lake they end up in another world.

Here Story is forced to remember who she is and what happened to her many years before. Everyone is telling her that she must save the worlds from crumbling. Story doesn’t quite believe she is who everyone else think’s she is. To her she’s just a normal college girl. She can’t save the world.

She is forced to start a journey with her besties and this mysterious warrior to save the worlds. Firstly she must overthrow Brink who has taken it upon himself to rule this land. As the journey continues she is joined by many other characters who will wage a war with Brink to help Story to save he worlds.

There are many well known characters in this book but one that does stick out for me was Snow and Beauty. I absolutely loved the twist on their characters.

I really enjoyed this book. This book has a bit of everything. There are many moments that made me laugh and there were some when I wept. You instantly love the characters and you find yourself cheering Story and her gang on to win.
